Assessment 3

Well here goes:
Unfortunately this will be my last post for MPI104,which means that the only thing that will keep me posting will be my burning desire to let all of you faithful followers out there about the interesting things that seem to happen to me every day.
I'm pretty sure that now would be a good time to recap on all the good times I've had so far in MPI104 with our swell lecturer Matt Barron:
So far I've set up a new google account, which I've then used to create a blog, flickr and delicious account with. Whilst doing all of this I've also learnt a little bit of html and how to use it on some websites (namely putting in a link using the 'a href'...), as well as how to include pictures and embed videos. We also just recently learnt how to use an RSS feed using Google Reader, or the web browser itself, and then put it into our blog or website.
As well as setting up a google account and all that followed I also learnt how to make a website, just with HTML and also with iWeb (which makes things ridiculously easy), so I created a website about myself; putting in some pictures of myself and pictures of stuff I've done. Plus a blog. Plus an anchorman quote. And an anchorman picture. And other cool stuff like an RSS feed and some info about me.
And that's all I have to say about Vietna MPI104. Except that Matt Barron was a super-swell teacher who always found time to end most lessons with some quality educational youtube videos.

MORRRRRRRE GUNS!!!

Well I was recently introduced to the works of Freddie and also the Epic Meal time episodes via youtube, and seeing as I'm on a roll with embedding youtube videos I thought I'd put up a popular clip of these two geniuses together.

Peter Griffin on Red Bull

Well since everyone else in MPI was putting up videos during/after the lesson I thought I'd do the same. Here's a family guy clip I added a link to previously, but thanks to the awesome teaching powers of Matt Barron I now know how to embed a cideo, so here's Family guy's Peter Griffin on Red Bull:

RSS

We learnt how to add some RSS feeds to our blog using Google reader and also using a url after looking on wikipedia for some fun facts (which were surprisingly hard to find). So we put a few feeds into our blogs for our websites we created for the previous assignment, as well as another random site which looked interesting (so I put in one linked to some Monty Python clips).
But even more interestingly Matt Barron went surfing youtube for some interesting videos. The more entertaining ones included star wars elevator music, marshmellow men and llamas with hats.
All in all a good lesson.

AND THE ULTIMATE DOG TEASE WAS AWESOME!!

I made a website!!!

I finished my website today :) It's all about myself and has some extremely interesting bio information plus some pictures (including some of my art and a few photos of me), a blog, and an anchorman quote (and a picture of the classic news team fight).
This website was created using iWeb, which makes it a lot easier than writing your own html script for a whole, complete website. However it also proved to be very annoying at times. More often than I would’ve liked. But it’s all working now :). Or at least I think it is :|
Hope you enjoy it!!

FTP post

Well FTP's really swell as well. Put up a practice website today which was also really swell.

iWEB

iWEB MAKES IT SO EASY TO DO WEBPAGES!!!!!!!!

That is all.

HTML + CSS

So.. CSS makes it a lot easier to make a website becuase it means you can make default settings for the whole webpage instead of having to go through each paragraph and heading and set the same font and colour. Also turns out colour needs to be spelt color when using html. Annoying.

HTML!!!

Here's the catch up blog for when we did html in class. HTML is very cool but also very frustrating because of the extreme ease with which you can stuff it up. >:O !!!!

Another exciting Friday VIS lecture!

Today our lecturer decided to assault a cardboard box during the lecture. Yes, a box.
At the time he was demonstrating/explaining how cubists mashed together different perspectives together onto the one plane, but most of the students managed to see the humorous side to his demonstration:

The cardboard box before the lecture:

and Dr. Overton doing his best to obliterate the box...for educational purposes:

My hovercraft is full of eels

Knowing how much my devoted audience out there would be missing me imparting my gems of wisdom via blogger.com I feel compelled to put another one out there:
Monty Python's Flying Circus is awesome!
Over the course of the weekend I (with the help of a friend), worked my way through the second half of season one and all of season two of this truly magnificent series. One skit in particular that stood out was 'the dirty Hungarian Phrasebook', which I highly recommend everyone youtubing as soon as they finish this sentence, or if possible before they finish the sentence.
And now  for something  completely different: Uni assessments!
Very recently I handed in my essay for VIS about the meaning of an image, I received my mark back for my first MPI104 assignment (a pass), and apparently later on today we all get our marks back for introduction to sound production.

And that's all there is.
